One of the biggest marketing misconceptions is that you can’t have marketing success without a lot of money.

A limited marketing budget does not mean that you are limited marketing-wise.

The saying, “we are paid equally to how much we are willing to think” is one of my favorites. A limited marketing budget can be a blessing, it’s a reason to force you to think and be creative.

When asked as a member of the Forbes Agency Council what startups with limited marketing budgets can do to thrive, I answered without hesitation that the importance of nailing your product or service while providing a stellar customer service experience were low-budget musts to get on the road to success.

All the awareness, communications, connections and sales made are worthless unless you have happy, satisfied clients who will vouch for you, recommend you and refer you. Nail your product and/or service experience, then leverage that success for sustainable growth.

Create a product or service that truly meets the needs of your clients. Get into the psychology of their pain points, their wants their needs, and deliver deliberately. One of the most overlooked pieces of the marketing puzzle is providing exceptional customer service experience to build a loyal client base. Every interaction with a customer should be of the same high quality, whether it is the first or the hundredth.

Leverage the success of your product or service to attract new customers and retain existing ones. Satisfied customers are more likely to vouch for and recommend your business, leading to organic growth and success.
