The only constant with technology is change. Our needs are ever-changing, and tech will continue to evolve to support consumers.

Every business has different pain points. In order to alleviate these, it’s important to cultivate conversations with your team to clarify wants and needs before you invest in technology.

We are big believers in investing in need-to-have’s first before nice-to-have’s, as we see all too often great technology platforms unused or not used to their fullest potential. It’s like having a luxury vehicle in the garage that is never driven.

Lorrie Thomas Ross, Web Marketing Therapy CEO, and Forbes Agency Council Member, shared her insight in a Forbes article titled “How Leaders Can Identify The Best Tech For Their Agency’s Needs”. Her advice is not just agency-specific. It is a good compass to identify the best technology for your business and marketing needs. She says:

“Adopt a “create, execute and monitor” approach to assess, optimize and add new technology. The only constant is change. Create conversations within your team about current and new technology solutions; execute the ideas (ideally with a trial before you commit); monitor ease of use, results and impact; then rinse and repeat. There is no “right” technology solution, but there are right ones for your agency.”

There isn’t a one-size-fits-all technology solution. Creating internal conversations will help you find the right fit for your business.
