Looking to boost your business, elevate your social media marketing AND get more search visibility?

You may be surprised to hear that our #1 BEST way to do this that works for our web marketing clients (and will work for you) is to get back on the blogging bandwagon!

(And if you think I can’t hear ya’ll saying under your breath, “But blogs are so early 2000s!” I can! Keep reading and trust me…)

Blogging isn’t dead. Yes, people aren’t following blogs with the same fervor they do on Instagram or YouTube, but this doesn’t mean that you should neglect your blog. Your blog posts serve as the backbone of your social media marketing, support SEO AND your blog stores all of your brilliant posts for easy, future reference.

AND Blogging is the #1 way to boost search engine visibility.

It’s super easy to reuse and/or repurpose older (but still great) blog content. Here are a few ways:

  • Wrote a great email newsletter? I bet there is great content that can become a blog post or two!
  • Find snazzy quotes to kick off a post and turn the quote into a graphic to share on social media (see our blog post on “Tips for Creating Social Media/Web-Based Graphics“).
  • Take a great Instagram post, expand upon it and share it on your blog (where character limit is large and the search engines can pick it up!)
  • Need something to share on Facebook, Twitter or LinkedIn? When you blog, you have great content to share and when people click to read it, they end up back on your website!

BLOG OPTIMIZATION TIP: Remove the date stamp on your blog posts. They will still appear in chronological order but a post from years ago (even if it’s still relevant) but may look less appealing to a new viewer if it is “dated”.

In short, keeping a blog for your business will boost search engine visibility for your website, store and index your content (with the ability to re-purpose it at your fingertips), and is a place to showcase your expertise and/or wonderful products and services.

Happy Blogging!
