Do you remember Google Plus? It’s now long gone, but Google has created a new opportunity for businesses to post social media on its platform through Google My Business.

Google My Business is a free tool for businesses to manage their online presence on Google Search and Google Maps. You can sign up for free here.

Once you verify your business on Google My Business, you can edit your business information such as business hours and phone numbers, tell readers your story, respond to customer reviews, and now, post social media content (yeah!).

Google lets you add offers, updates, or event-related social media posts:

Your posts cannot be more than 300 words and can include photos or videos. You can also add a call-of-action button (such as “Learn More” or “Call Now”) and add dates for events.

Google posts only last one week. After the week is over, Google automatically removes them. You can have up to 10 posts at a time.

What I love about Google posts is that the analytics are cool. It tells you how many new views you had this week as well as how many people clicks your post earns.

I suggest you post content about business announcements, offers or deals, new items in stock, or upcoming event information! Sign into Google My Business to launch your first post.
