Just Say Om: Yogic Lessons with Felicia Tomasko

“Allow ourselves to be helped as much as we are helping others”, said Felicia Marie Tomasko on this week’s edition of the Wild Web Women® Radio Show.

As the Editor of LA YOGA Magazine, a Yoga Instructor and Ayurvedic Practitioner, Felicia Marie Tomasko has built a Community of enthusiasts who follow her lessons in reducing stress, respecting our bodies and living a happy healthy life.  Here is some of the wisdom heard on the show inspired by the practice of Yoga and Ayurveda:

Balance is not a static or steady thing.  We are constantly shifting, changing and readjusting.

Self Nuturing is a non-negotiable.  Do not compromise this time for yourself.  Give yourself 5 minutes a day – self-massage, dry brushing before a shower – realize that you have this body – it’s where you are moving from – you will awaken your energy level feeling soothed, stimulated, alive and Wild!

Yoga is a Practice. We build on the practice and continue to evolve.  Do this in your daily life. Conserve yourself (energy), build on the content you’ve built, whether it’s on the web, in print or verbal.  Embrace your Community through online contacts and in person support.  You’ll always feel like you haven’t done enough already – Celebrate your accomplishments, Enjoy them and Do it again, and again!

Felicia Marie Tomasko RN, E-RYT 500, inspires people to follow the path to personal freedom and vibrant health through the practice of Yoga and Ayurveda. She teaches a heartfelt exploration of shakti, sacred energy, through asana, pranayama, concentration and relaxation and maintains a private practice in the healing tradition of Ayurveda, a system of holistic and integrative medicine native to India. Ayurveda shares the same philosophy and ways of approaching the body, mind and spirit as Yoga and emphasizes our relationship to our body, breath, spirit and to nature within and around us. The dual systems of Yoga and Ayurveda, while seemingly ancient and esoteric, hold vital lessons for us to learn how to live with intent and address the needs of living in the modern world. Felicia believes in humorously making these concepts relevant to modern, everyday life.

Felicia integrates more than twenty years of study of the ancient approaches of Yoga and Ayurveda with her training and licensure as a registered nurse. She is the editor in chief of LA YOGA Ayurveda and Health magazine (where she has been on staff for more than seven years) and serves on the board of directors of the California Association of Ayurvedic Medicine and the National Ayurvedic Medical Association, on the advisory board of the Holistic Option and the Leadership Council of the Green Yoga Association..  She is a featured voice on Intent.com and writes regularly on health and well-being for a number of books, newspapers, magazines and websites. In addition to Yoga and Ayurveda, Felicia has worked in cognitive neuropsychology and plant biochemistry research and has degrees in nursing and environmental biology.

"

Lorrie Thomas and her wild web women team have helped build my online marketing tremendously. I am the owner of a day spa in Santa Barbara and with Lorrie’s guidance, I have optimized my website – not only is it visually pleasing – it is search-friendly! Which means that I have many new customers from in town and out of town that find out about Cielo Spa through natural web searches. The increased exposure has made me a recognizable business in Santa Barbara and has increased my customer base. I also love the fact that Lorrie and I are both entrepreneurial businesswomen in the same town! Lorrie deeply understands where I am coming from and where I would like my business to go. I always know that she has my best interest at heart and her efforts are certainly paying off!
