Branding, Logo Design, Tagline Development Agency

It is a human psychological fact that we are visual creatures – what we see is what we assume we get. Branding isn't just about how pretty your logo is but what it says about your organization. WMT supports organizations with brand strategy/advisory, logo design, tagline development and value messaging to set the tone for success.

Brand Strategy, Logo Development and Marketing Messaging

Is your organization positioned to be a market leader? Your brand is your business's face – it shows potential and current clients who you are, what you do and whom you serve. On a daily basis we make snap judgment decisions about things based upon our visual analysis of them. Branding is not just something you design – it is something that you need to plan with the help of savvy marketing experts.

The process of creating the perfect brand for your organization must come in strategic steps. Each step builds upon the next to create the ultimate visual story. This is where we introduce Web Marketing Therapy's Hierarchy of Brand Needs - our step by step success-backed system that manages the process of brand construction:

Web Marketing Therapy Hierarchy of Brand Needs

Branding Case Studies:

Explore Ecology Logo

Patient: Explore Ecology (exploreecology.org)

Diagnosis: This environmental education non-profit needed a new identity to represent their name change (without confusing the community devoted to the old namesake – Art From Scrap).

Prescription: Web Marketing Therapy is all about giving back and as 1% for the Planet donors we contacted Explore Ecology (before the name change from Art From Scrap) about donating to their amazing environmental education programs. After the first meeting we knew we were headed in the right direction.

Using the already developed logo , the WMT team worked together to create a clean, fresh and on brand set of stationary and marketing collateral to be used by Explore Ecology to transition into their new name. The tagline of “Explore.Discover.Empower.” was developed to further the messaging of the non-profit.

Matthew Berger

Patient: Matthew I. Berger Law Group (www.mbergerlaw.com)

Diagnosis: All over the map branding! Matthew Berger is Web Marketing Therapy’s favorite Carpinteria/Santa Barbara attorney specializing in trademark, entertainment and business law. Matthew is a highly reputable attorney with years of experience and a track record of community involvements and volunteering, but his inconsistent branding, out of date website and old school headshot was sending the wrong message. Matthew’s high-caliber customer service and law experience needed to be represented visually throughout all of his collateral!

Prescription: Consistency is key! Matthew’s simple professional logo was perfect for his image, but a dozen inconsistent iterations left Matthew with a different logo from website, to business card to signage. The first step was recreating Matthew’s logo in a scalable media for consistent use through all collateral. Once a logo in new brand colors was established, full brand overhaul ensued; business cards, letterhead, ad’s and website were all designed with Matthew’s new professional and classic brand in mind.

To get the scoop on Matthew’s full website redesign visit our Website Design Services page or visit our Photo Therapy page to see what great headshots did for Matthew!

Testimonial:"I first met Lorrie Thomas (now Thomas Ross) through a chance LinkedIn encounter. She became a connection of someone with whom I was connected. I looked at her LinkedIn page and decided that she was someone with whom I wanted to be connected. I could not be more pleased with that connection. Soon thereafter, I attended a seminar she was giving on social network marketing and, lo and behold, our LinkedIn connection was part of her presentation on how this all works. After having the pleasure of working with her on various trademark and business organization issues, the time came for me to improve my brand. Without a moment of hesitation, I turned to Web Marketing Therapy for guidance, creation of the plan, and implementation.

The Web Marketing Therapy Team, comprised of the Wild Web Women (and a man), worked creatively and innovatively to redesign my 10-year old website, business cards, and stationary. The positive feedback I have received on each of these elements leaves no doubt that they did a brilliant job. Each team member was exceedingly competent in her/his respective field, and the work was done timely, with great collaboration, and within budget.

The Matthew I. Berger Law Group now is receiving focused and qualified inquiries, and its website continuously appears on the first page of Internet searches under various inquiries. I highly recommend Web Marketing Therapy for their brilliant marketing, web design, and promotional services."

Demboski & Chapman

Patient: Demboski & Chapman Financial and Insurance Solutions, Inc. (demboskiandchapman.com)

Diagnosis: Stale identity! With a business ownership change Demboski & Chapman was looking for a fresh start to an established financial practice in the Santa Barbara area.

Prescription: Start-from-scratch redesign to transition the company and keep the brand current. To take Chapman Financial Group to Demboski & Chapman we needed to implement a full identity package overhaul. Established in the Santa Barbara area for years the client knew they wanted a look that said “Professional Financial Advisors” and kept that unique Santa Barbara vibe. By establishing a logo first we were able to take the company stationary to clean, crisp, new beginnings. As we move into website development we will have a healthy brand base with all the necessary components; logo, font and color for the ultimate look and feel.

Spoloan

Patient: SpoLoan Mortgage Banking (spoloan.com)

Diagnosis: Staged a marketing intervention! Joel Spolin has been a leader in the Palo Alto Mortgage space for decades but was starting his own mortgage company so he needed it all - everything from a logo, website, web marketing advisory, business cards, letterhead and more! WMT had to stage a marketing intervention when we saw the logo Joel almost used – the design was supposed to appeal to a high tech market (he serves Silicon Valley), but the “look how hip and techy we are” design we saw on the free consult call was not aligning with Joel’s professionalism or industry.

Prescription: A professional brand boost. The clean look of the SpoLoan identity (a name cleverly playing on Joel’s last name Spolin but putting the emphasis on what he does so well – loans!) takes aim at the target market in a modern, web-friendly, yet sophisticated way. Logo overhaul, clean business cards, professional and distinct letterhead, on-brand print ads and full service site represent the load that the SpoLoan brand is carrying. Each piece of collateral communicates an on-brand and on-purpose message to the SpoLoan clientele that boosts credibility and visibility in a clean and modern way.

Testimonial: "I can't say enough great things about Web Marketing Therapy. They did an awesome job cleaning up my logo, helping with brand identity, designing print ads and creating and launching an awesome website. I first heard about Lorrie when I read her book: Online Marketing and then found her teaching a class about online marketing at lynda.com. I figured if she was good enough to get published and chosen to teach, she was a real expert. And even with my high and tough expectations, her team exceeded those. She is an internet rock star and lets me concentrate on what I know best – mortgage banking. I highly recommend WMT and she and Jennie are already busy on my next assignment."

Katie's Botanical Design

Patient: Katie Sorenson of Katie's Botanical Design (katiesbotanicaldesign.com)

Katie's Botanical Design is a full service plant design company owned and operated by Katie Sorenson, Santa Barbara green thumb goddess. Her ability to transform plants into breathtaking arrangements, living and floral, is a talent to behold. In addition to the arrangements, Katie offers full garden consultations, design services and green maintenance.

Diagnosis: Identity crisis! An amazing garden design repertoire was being hindered from growing due to a simple lack of credible marketing collateral like business cards and a web presence. Needed a proper brand vision to put forward as the face of her business.

Prescription: Logo, business cards, tagline, webpage design. Katie's Botanical Design needed a full, start from scratch visual identity. Her work spoke for its self and acted as the inspiration for a lively color palette, a fresh set of interchangeable logos and a sophisticated, yet simple web presence. Great design with a clear message helps build a great reputation. Now when Katie is approached by a new client her business card with snazzy new logo can help communicate who she is, what she does and whom she serves while simultaneously building up the credibility of her business. (and the cards look soooo cool when they are popping out of her arrangements upon delivery!)

The Katie's Botanical Design website is a low-stress example of why a simple web presence is better than none at all. Now Katie has a site to showcase her work and her contact information is available to anyone searching the web for the types of services she offers.

Thornton Editorial

Patient: The Business Therapist (thebusinesstherapist.com)

Diagnosis: When The Business Therapist came to Web Marketing Therapy, his "high tech, high touch" expert business advisory had communication issues – his first logo, tagline, marketing designs and website were not on brand or on-purpose.

Prescription: Branding breakdown and rebuild: strategized three new taglines to choose from which set the direction for the logo designs (presented three very different concepts with each tagline), created a branding style guide to maintain consistency across ALL marketing collateral (logo, site, letterhead, business cards), designed new logo, designed business cards, strategized new website, created a marketing plan (focusing on need to haves vs. nice to haves in that order), implemented new website design (design, development), devised online marketing strategies, trained and advised on future marketing work.

Testimonial: "I had tried twice to enter the digital space and failed before I met Lorrie and the wild web women. I felt comfortable with WMT on our first telephone conversation. They differentiate themselves by the depth of planning and strength of web marketing foundation they help you build. The breadth of their knowledge is quite remarkable and they are open to sharing and teaching their valuable skills. Knowing we have the full support of the wild web women (and men!) of WMT has allowed my firm to confidently take our business ideas to the digital world... and the journey has been great fun – you go girls!"

Thornton Editorial

Patient: Jennifer Thornton of Thornton Editorial (jennthornton.com).

Thornton Editorial is a boutique writing studio that offers comprehensive writing, editing, and consultancy services for individuals and organizations.

Diagnosis: Need for a positioning breakthrough! It was time to build a presence from the ground up—total marketing overhaul!

Prescription: Logo, tagline, blog, website design, website development, project management, social media strategy, advisory and training. Jennifer decided to do what she does best and hire WMT to do the rest. Thornton's work has appeared in publications like Sunset, JEZEBEL, The Atlantan Magazine, Miami, Real Weddings and many other publications nationwide. She has also written corporate communications for such companies as Sony and LMP International, and is currently a Senior Consulting Editor for Modern Luxury Media.

The tagline was so much fun to help create. Jennifer is a history enthusiast with a degree in the subject who interned as a junior archivist for the CSUS Archives and a project historian for the California State Office of Historic Preservation—the ideal porthole through which to examine the people, places, and turning points that have always captivated her. This same enthusiasm for history folds/blends into creating original content both web and print for Fortune 500s to boutique PR firms—in a nutshell, content that helps her clients make history of their own...the tagline Content Creation that Makes History was born. The logo and design of the site and blog followed. The blog theme, Herstorical Perspectives is a brilliant blog that shares value, Jennifer's values and voices her thought leadership as a content creator that helps her clients define their history.

Healthy Web Life / Follow-up Visit: Jennifer still comes to WMT for light advisory. We nearly fell out of our she-geek chairs when another client was being pitched by a luxury magazine group and sent us all their magazines to show their work and there was Jennifer—stunning headshot, bio and all under Contributors. We knew her talent, but to see her in print made us soooo proud to have been her choice for marketing support and guidance!

Testimonials

"

I am extremely impressed by Web Marketing Therapy (WMT). Their approach to marketing is refreshing – it’s not just about talk, it’s about getting things done. I am asked repeatedly by friends and clients to recommend marketing companies. When I do, I am putting my own reputation on the line. That said, I would recommend WMT without hesitation. Their integrity, creativity, and results make me look good every time. Thank you WMT for excelling at what you do!

Lorrie, Kelly, Amber and the rest of the ‘Wild Web Women’ guided me through starting my personal blog, managing my new web tools and brainstorming creative ideas for future website development. Since the initial launch of the revamped CharlieKimball.com, I have seen a significant increase in web traffic. Being able to confidently blog and tweet from the road and all the race tracks I visit throughout the year makes me feel much more in touch with my fan base. It also provides an easy way to keep my family and friends updated. Lorrie Thomas’ introduction and enthusiasm about Twitter has also given me a new avenue to explore with my sponsors.

Lorrie Thomas is not only a savvy web marketer, she’s an incredible teacher. She provided an insightful overview of how social media is changing the marketing landscape, clearly explained a variety of social media tools, and engaged the SMARTY group to get everyone thinking critically about how best to employ these tools for their own businesses. Lorrie also encouraged everyone to think of the time and money they spend on marketing as an investment; advice I couldn’t agree with more.
