One of my favorite quotes delivered by our WMT founder, Lorrie Thomas is:
“We make it our practice to be true consultants and not insultants.”
-This is SO true! We have all witnessed consultants who criticize and insult. You know, those who basically drop “assault / insult bombs” and leave you with very little to build upon -no tools or real advisory for practical and effective growth.
We believe as consultants that it’s best to collaborate, partner, and “construct” a plan with your clients, while addressing their specific business needs. -This is “constructive advisory.”
We know that the keys to our clients’ future success are most often found within them. So, we seek to systematically bring them out! Their passion, personality and interest in their field can shape a much more distinctive marketing presence with sales power, online and offline! Our passion is in delving deeper with our clients, while applying an integrative marketing approach for meaningful results.
Being that I LOVE to play with words… Adding to what Lorrie has said, I’d like to say:
“Consult (and don’t insult) for the best result!”
Language and etymology can be very interesting and powerful (see the online etymology dictionary). The following is a little etymology and word definition I’d like to share:
ConSULT:
Com- “with” + *selere “take, gather together.” Consult (v.) is from 1548. A consultant (from the Latin consultare means “to discuss” from which we also derive words such as consul and counsel) is a professional who provides advice.
InSULT:
1570, “triumph over in an arrogant way,” from L. insultare “to assail, to leap upon.” Sense of “to verbally abuse, affront, assail with disrespect” is from 1620. An insult (also called putdown) is an expression, statement (or sometimes behavior) which is considered degrading.
ReSULT:
1432, from M.L. resultare “to result,” in classical L. “to spring forward, rebound,” frequentative of pp. of resilire “to rebound.” A result is the final consequence of a sequence of actions or events expressed qualitatively or quantitatively.
