The Ultimate Combo: LinkedIn Now Works with Twitter!

When I discovered that you could update selective tweets from your Twitter to appear on your Facebook, I was ecstatic! Who doesn’t love marketing multi-tasking? But I have breaking news for all you wild web professionals–You can now sync up your LinkedIn account with your Twitter! How I cherish this social network love fest!

On LinkedIn you will be able to access these new features:

1. Make your Twitter account visible on your profile

2. Use #in or #li to share posts from Twitter to your LinkedIn status

3. Add the Tweets app to share your Twitter activity on your profile

In addition to sharing new content with your friends/followers on your LinkedIn profile via Twitter, the search engine spiders will be crawling all over your networks. As we all know, content is king and fresh content is God! :)

To sync up your LinkedIn account with Twitter, click on the Account & Settings tab on LinkedIn and go to Profile Settings—>Twitter Settings. Any questions? Feel free to post a comment or track me down via Twitter (@SarahCaminker).

    I think this is interesting should there be words of caution surrounding this?

    Linked-in is like your business suit and you are networking with primarily professionals and business connections on linked in. Careful consideration of your use of Twitter should support your goals on Linked-in and I would think be representative of your profile while still showing your unique personality. Would love your thoughts on this.

    Hi Cindy!

    I will let Sarah chime in with her expertise, but my biggest piece of advice is to make your messages matter and ONLY use #in or #li when your tweet has PROFESSIONAL relevancy.

    It’s not about the tools, it’s HOW we use them!

    Hi Cindy,

    In regards to social media, I believe if you’re not ready to yell something off the rooftop then there’s no need to tweet, facebook, or post it on LinkedIn! Regardless of the social network that you’re connecting with people on (whether that’s professional or personal), be careful what you say online because once you click send it’s on the wild web forever!

    I love what Lorrie said about social media and completely agree that “it’s not about the tools, it’s HOW we use them!”
