Blogging is something we highly encourage all of our clients to do! It gives you a voice and helps create the KNOW, LIKE and TRUST factors that make people WANT to know you, work with you or buy from you.

A client came to us complaining that she couldn’t get the blog posts in her WordPress hosted blog to list her postings in reverse chronological order (most recent blog post at the top of the page). She had spent valuable time trying to figure out the problem on her own and enlisted the help of her assistant as well to try and figure out what setting was causing the very frustrating event of older posts being on the top of the newer ones blog.

In walks a very “STICKY” problem…literally! WordPress introduced “sticky” posts so that a blogger could keep the most important post at the top of a page, however, in cruising around the WordPress forums, it seems there are quite a few people that view it as a problem instead of a great solution.

The "sticky" option is found in your publishing options

Sticky can be found in the publishing options.

While this feature causes some frustrations, it can be an awesome tool! We have multiple authors on our blog, but the Web Marketing Therapist is our fearless leader! If she has some huge “A-HA” moment, she may want to stick that post to the top of the blog, above the posts of all of the other brilliant contributors on this blog, so that our readers will see it FIRST.

Hope this helps all you WordPress bloggers get into or out of a STICKY situation!
