Jim Morouse, one of the most brilliant marketers I know, sent me a New York Times article called “The Culture of the Internet” that introduced me to a fabulous phrase that I challenge all of you to use in a sentence this week:
Your new wild web marketing word is: Rickrolling
David Pogue gave the perfect example of Rickrolling in his article, so I will quote him directly:
“Rickrolling (as *everyone* knows, obviously) is an Internet prank where you send a Web link to someone, promising something exciting—but you’ve actually linked to a YouTube video of Rick Astley’s 1987 music video, “Never Gonna Give You Up.” That’s it. That’s the joke. Ha! You fell for it!“
