One of my favorite Wild Web Women in our Wild Web Women Linkedin group (I know guys, you are totally jealous) posted an awesome blog post about how to make sure your web ego is in check. Social Media can be whorish or helpful, all depending on how you use it. Healthy Marketing is about marketing that matters (not to your ego, but to the people you serve).
I am big on social media as a service, information distribution and customer service tool. Erica Friedman, President of Yurikon LLC, a social media promotion company focusing on small and “micro” niches, just posted a brilliant piece on her SocialOptimized blog called Blatant Self-Promotion or Awesome Social Media?
I had to share this as it is a helpful, healthy reminder to you as you embark on and engage in the social world.
Erica’s points pack punch and make a ton of sense:
-Awesome Social Media is Descriptive
-Awesome Social Media is Relevant
-Awesome Social Media Interacts
-Awesome Social Media is Human
Read the full Blatant Self-Promotion or Awesome Social Media? and tell us what you think.
