Here I go, delving into and exploring the deeper meaning of words again.  It’s just too compelling not to, especially when there’s a little hidden treasure to share.  Sometimes the simplest things can be the most powerful.  Today, I will examine the word “ORGANIZATION” and all its amazing components and derivatives.

ORGAN:

We need healthy organs to support the whole, the whole body -the whole business entity.  It’s vital for function, to survive and to thrive!

Do you have all the critical structural components needed for your business health? (like organs in the body) Are your operations, product development, quality controls, sales, marketing, PR, customer service, billing, management, information sharing/flowing and relationship building functioning together and serving you well?

Etymology Highlight: In the Etymology Dictionary it reads “that which one works”…In Greek, “ergon” which is “work”, O.E. organe, and O.Fr. orgene (12c.).

ORGANIC:

This applies to how you naturally serve your businesses’ interrelated systems.  Seeking ways to organically support your success is wise and efficient for business growth.

Are you identifying the elements that work best for your business?  Find those natural market niches, products and services that work well together and nurture them. Target your markets, streamline your efforts, and build your revenue centers.

Etymology Highlight:  It reads from L. organicus, from Gk. organikos “of or pertaining to an organ,” from organon “instrument.”

ORGANIZE:

This is the act of organizing.  We all know that in order to move forward, we need to organize first. This affects the planning, executing, and the running of your organization.

How conscious are you of your organizing systems? Do you need to re-evaluate and re-organize to bring forth the support needed to realize your true potential? All companies need basic structural, organizational underpinnings for success.

Etymology Highlight:  “action of organizing parts into a whole” is 1816; that of “system, establishment” is 1873.

ORGANIZATION:

This is the result or condition of organizing.

To be a business which is thriving and powerful, we need to examine the true meaning of the word “organization.”

Etymology Highlight:  Organization (1432) is originally in the sense “act of organizing,” from M.L. organizationem (nom. organizatio), from organizare; meaning “condition of being organized.”
