Is Your e-Mail Marketing Suffering Me-mail Ego Issues?

If you are reading this blog post, congratulations in investing in taking a healthy break to regroup and focus on healthy web marketing. (Short breaks count!) It’s not what we know, it’s ALWAYS about what we are open to learning that makes our web marketing healthy and wealthy!

My advice today is a spoonful of Web Marketing Rx that will keep your web marketing from being dysfunctional.

Web marketing tools like email will NOT HELP YOUR business.  How you use the tools (like e-Mail) is what makes marketing matter.  An unhealthy pattern (that I see all too often) is that professionals have websites, send emails, blog, tweet and get on Facebook thinking the tools (sans thought or strategy) will magically cure their marketing issues.

WRONG.

Are You Putting the Pieces of Your Web Marketing Puzzle Together Intelligently so your execution CLICKS?

Are You Putting the Pieces of Your Web Marketing Puzzle Together Intelligently so your execution CLICKS?

When we think about how to use web marketing as a support tool to *serve our customers, *support our sales message and *sell from a place of education and value, THEN the pieces of your web marketing puzzle CLICK!  Look at our logo icon to the left.  Our logo icon shows the power of how the human brain puts all the pieces of your marketing puzzle together to make your marketing click….clever, eh?  :-)

I am on way to many e-Mail lists (and even stay subscribed to ones I don’t like to see what is happening in cyberspace - good, bad and messed up) and what I want you to ask yourself today (as it relates to HOW you are using web marketing tools) is this:

Is Your e-Mail Marketing Suffering Me-mail Ego Issues?

e-Mail newsletters and e-Mail messages that are all about you or your company (vs. the right way ofbeing focused serving your audience) is NOT e-mail marketing…egotistical tool use is called Me-Mail Marketing.  AND IT DOESN’T WORK!

Me-Mail Marketing is selfish and will alienate your subscribers.  They will get annoyed, see no value, unsubscribe and have a negative reaction to your brand.  And worse, if you violate permission and subscribe people to your email lists without someones specific permission AND Me-mail them, then it’s double abuse really making your marketing a serious danger to your company and others!  And your customers may contact Web Marketing Therapy to have us stage an intervention on your organization!

As much as we use humor though our advice to help illustrate and fix all the dysfunctional web marketing out there, I do want you to take this mini-blog therapy session to think critically about your use of e-Mail as a marketing tool. If your e-Mail is more about you then it is about your customers, then your marketing execution is not helpful to you or to your readers.

Web Marketing Therapy’s success-backed approach to web marketing is about ADAPTING web tools (versus just ADOPTING what you see others doing) so when I say your e-Mail cannot be Me-Mail, I am not saying that you cannot talk about your company.  (PLEASE use our advice to think, don’t make quick assumptions)

It is ok to talk about your company as long as it is helpful, relevant and educational (good service) to serve and support your readers.  Just be mindful of your intention.

Revisit your e-Mail marketing execution so it is on purpose and offers relevant value and you will win big with web marketing.

Make it a wild web marketing week - congratulations on making your marketing meaningful, matter and pay!

……Being less egotistical with your e-Mail makes a BIG difference in your results!!
