Today’s Monday Marketing Motivation, inspired by one of fashion’s trailblazers, Coco Chanel, reminds us that in order to have value in business, we need to be distinct.

Some of us never got over elementary school politics (where it was better to be “like all the other kids”) where being distinct was not cool.  If you have to work on the “must be like everybody else” issue, work on it quickly and get over it- time is ticking to brand, build and boost your business.  Look at companies who make marketing meaningful – they all have distinction that sets them apart from the competition.

Was Chanel a clothing label that everybody could wear?  No.  But Chanel knew their market, served it, dominated it and ROCKED IT, putting their energy into the audience that mattered.

Web Marketing Therapy is technically a “marketing agency”, but we have a distinct personality (in case you haven’t picked that up yet, hehe) and we have a distinct educational approach and healthy holistic marketing philosophy that sets us apart from the thousands of other web marketing firms out there.  And, our differentiation is not for everybody.  People who are not comfortable for asking for help or don’t see the humor in our brand are NOT people we want to serve.   Our distinction sets us apart and spares us from wasting time with people who are not our ideal partners.  Consider distinction to serve as a time saver too!

Find your distinction, own it, communicate it, love it, live it and have fun with it.  Be irreplaceable!
