One of things that I procrastinate about is blogging. I sit down to write, and the blank page just taunts me, daring me to write anything…come on….write!
Today for fun I decided to type into Google “find a topic for a blog post” and actually came across a really helpful blog post from TypePad. It’s a list of 10 things to get the creative thoughts going, which I’ve shared below. Also there’s just something about lists that I love!
10 Ways To Find New Blog Topics
1. Check your comment section.
2. Create a list. - Yay a list!
3. Review your greatest hits.
4. Spend some time on social networking sites like Digg and StumbleUpon to find out what other people are blogging about. – This is great point; it’s amazing what’s out there. I’ve also found that Twitter is an excellent source.
5. Explore blogs in an entirely different category than yours. – This is something I’m going to start trying, it will be good to step outside of my comfort zone.
6. Do something different.
7. Invite a guest author to write a blog post.
8. Step away from the computer. – I do this it helps a lot, but the key is that I have to have written something first.
9. Turn on the news.
10. Keep an idea log. – This is one thing that I’m definitely going to start doing. I find that I come up with blog ideas at random times and I just think that I’ll remember them, but 9 times out of 10 I forget. Have to start writing it down!
Happy Blogging!
