It’s Friday, I Want To Ride a Wave–The Google Wave

Living by the beach has its perks–you’re more exposed to sunshine (so you are tanned year-round), you’re happier because the weather and scenery rocks, but also…you get to ride waves! I know, so what does this have to do with marketing?

Today while on Facebook, I stumbled upon a video that changed the way I perceive waves…behold: Google Wave! First, check out this short video:

I was definitely nodding my head during some parts of this video! Way to go for Google to develop more creative solutions to make businesses run smoother! Think of all the time you spend on email threads–finding them, cc’ing them, sending them again if you forgot to cc anyone and forwarding messages. I say ride the Wave!

The only thing is…this is so new that it’s by invitation only. You can log into Google Wave using your existing Google account (or create one real fast, it’s easy!) You can request an invitation and see what happens.

I’ve gone in and requested an invite–I’m going to cross my fingers that I’m deemed cool enough to ride the Wave soon and then share it with the rest of my team!

Cool idea. Kind of like a forum, but with more flexibility. We’ll see how well it is received by the invitees…
