I have accepted the fact that I am like the rest of Americans who spend roughly nine hours in front of some sort of monitor each day. Ahhhh I know! I need to take a break from my virtual world and step outside!
See below for the media pyramid, illustration by Jason Lee and published in Wired. If we are going to spend a majority of our life plastered to a screen, we need to make sure we’re digesting quality content! Lee says, “Practicing good nutrition keeps your mind sharp, your body fit, and your life long. The same could be said for consuming media. (Seriously, knowledge is power).” Similar to our need for healthy web marketing, we need a healthy balance for optimal media health.
How do you balance your media diet? Mine is probably around 6 hours social media and microblogging (yes, I’m obsessed!), 2 hours entertainment and 1 hour news.
