Sometimes I have great ideas for my clients. I can just sit down, type away, and come up with something brilliant (if I do say so myself)! Other days, I’m stumped. How am I going to fill that newsletter with enchanting content? Why can I not think of another way to say this or that?
Recently a person taught me that instead of wasting my time sitting in front of the computer trying to think up catchy content for the next newsletter and mindlessly staring at a blank word document (translation: getting nothing done) to step away and do something I enjoy! Whether it’s going for a 25 minute run or baking something or talking on the phone with my mom, find something that is totally different than what I was trying to work on before. After this enjoyable distraction, you will find that upon returning to your task, it seems easier, you get it done quickly and your mental roadblock has passed.
So the next time you can’t do, well, don’t! Take a breather and come back later totally refreshed!
