Although Lord Acton didn’t make our original Top Marketing Man crush list, his moving quote did make our list as marketing motivation:

Talk is cheap. Actions move mountains. When professionals get on my marketing therapy couch, I see a pattern of a lot of “I’ll do that when…” or “When such and such happens, then I’ll do…”
You know something? As you talk about doing something, innovators and leaders are making meaningful marketing happen. The biggest risk is not taking a risk.
Call that person you’ve been talking about partnering with, start that project you’ve been dreaming about, take that class, write that blog post, pitch that idea – JUST DO IT.
