Like a more advanced version of Sesame Street, the words I’d like to examine and play with today which possess unique power for entrepreneurs are:

VISION, VISIONARY and SIGHT.

Do you have a VISION for your business?…

If you’re not sure, or haven’t created an effective VISION STATEMENT, do yourself a favor and create one.   A vision statement is a vivid, idealized description of a desired outcome with an inspiring mental picture of a larger goal (See TimeThoughts.com for added guidance).

As a long-time marketer, I’ve experienced how valuable the conscious pursuit of a resonating company vision is (as Kaili’s WMT blog states: Your Focus Determines Your Reality).  It can serve as a much-needed guiding star, affecting your company culture, team building, client relationships and the value of your brand.

When the vision for your company is expanded with a greater level of meaning and purpose, it has more impact.  It helps companies become greater than their individual founders and foster longer term success.  As you grow and learn, the vision can be developed and expanded.

It’s important to be true to your vision and brand image;  therein lies the power! I’ve seen far too many companies hurt themselves by acting in opposition to their core vision and purpose.  Acting in accordance with your vision and brand identity builds invaluable trust and confidence.

Are you VISIONARY?…

A VISIONARY in today’s entrepreneurial context, is someone who has the power to imagine what does not yet exist, seeing into the future.  Visionary entrepreneurs focus on turning their dreams (or visions) into a reality.  Examples of visionary giants are:  Steve Wozniak, Bill Gates, Steve Jobs, the Disney brothers, Ray Kroc, Jim Hensen (The creator/puppeteer of the Sesame Street Muppets) Peter Ueberroth (organized the 1984 LA Olympics), S. Truett Cathy (founder of Chick-Fil-A), and so many others who have dared to do something different and create.

There are so many levels in which businesses can become visionary and innovative today. And, it’s needed now more than ever!  Strive to be visionary and inspire others.

SIGHT is more than what meets the eye.  How good is your sight, including your WebSIGHT?...

Do you engage in a full range of sight, like HINDSIGHT, INSIGHT, and FORESIGHT?  Do you learn from the past, look within, and picture a potential future?   When you look at your marketing, are you taking in a 360 degree view, from every angle and direction?  Are you taking full advantage of your WebSIGHT? As web marketing experts, at WMT, our team of Wild Web Women will ask how well your vision and strategy are reflected in your website.

Is your website just sitting there or does it have VISION? –Is it a living, growing, breathing tool supporting a visionary future?  Are you poised to support your company’s vision and purpose through the web, with growing social networking, education, customer service, research data, PR, multimedia story-telling, alliance building, search engine optimization, salespower and more?  These are just some of the on-going questions that help drive and innovate your business results today and tomorrow.  As entrepreneurs, we need to see and visualize more, marrying vision with action.

Go forth… Develop your company vision and a visionary future with purposeful and powerful WebSIGHT!
