Insight from the Dalai Lama:
“Guilt, as experienced in Western culture, is connected with hopelessness and discouragement and is past-oriented.  Genuine remorse, however, is a healthy state of mind–it is future-oriented, connected with hope, and causes us to act, to change.”

We all make marketing mistakes.  When that happens we have to move on and learn from those mistakes and continue to do stellar marketing work.  As my boss lady says, “fail forward.”  The zen marketing lesson is don’t let your mistakes discourage – let your mistakes encourage you to grow and change.

So I shouldn’t feel guilty about that big candy bar I just ate? But instead think of all the candy bars that I won’t eat in the future!
