Emilia Doerr, WMT’s Client Treatment Specialist, turned me on to a brilliant entrepreneur, speaker, wild web man, marketing/PR guru, and superstud who made toilet paper a marketing inspiration.
Mike Michalowicz (pronounced Mi-COW-Low-Witz) is best known as “The Toilet Paper Entrepreneur.” In the name of Independence Day, Mike asked serial entrepreneurs to share their entreprenurial independence story. My entrepreneurial independence snippet was featured on Mike’s site and I wanted to share it here, on our blog, as one more reminder to appreciate how liberating our work can be!!
I claimed my professional Independence the minute our website, www.webmarketingtherapy.com went live. Launching A Virtual Company Was My Professional Liberation! Seeing my blood, sweat and tears launch into a real virtual company was so liberating. No more senior management, ever again!!! At WMT, this is not my company, it is OUR company. It is a self-directed team, driven by the wild web women and our partners (you!) I relish the ability to create my own professional destiny (every day!) and support my team, clients, students, WMT members and partners as they claim theirs.
Entreprenurial independence is a personal and professional privilege and I wouldn’t trade it for the world.
Our country was founded on entrepreneurial spirit. Whether we work for ourselves, as contractors or at companies, full time, part time or maybe not at all (as lots of professionals are inbetween jobs, building businesses, relaunching their professional destiny) we are all running businesses and acting as entrepreneurs…
Do you have an Entrepreneurial Independence story or words of wisdom?
Happy 4th Wild Web People!
Hugs,
The Wild Web Team at Web Marketing Therapy

Wow, I love every word Lorrie! Great story to share for this liberating weekend!
You truly are an inspiration to fellow entrepreneurs as well! I totally love and can appreciate the team spirit and driving forward to bring a place of freedom to work for others! Somehow, I kept stepping closer to the edge myself walking farther and farther away from “corporate America” and then I fell off the edge and realized I just died and went to heaven.
What a relief to know that there are entrepreneurs like yourself who are swimming along freely in a sea of independent bliss!
Thanks for this little gem of an entry for a nice vision of the future for those of us who choose the “road less traveled, but skipped upon all the way down”!
Here’s to Wild Web Women all over this country!

Thanks Amber! I hear so often that the folks who are most afraid to “let go of the ledge” are the first ones to wonder why the heck they didn’t do it years ago.
Go Wild Web Women, Men and Wild Entrepreneurs claiming their professional independence!!!
