GoToMeeting is one of our favorite communication tools – as you can see from our overly enthusiastic Wild Web Canine on the right (that’s my dog Nellie Monster!)
GoToMeeting combines Web and audio conferencing, and has been very valuable to the Web Marketing Therapy team, as we live and work in different cities across the country.
Boosting Efficiency and Collaboration
GoToMeeting enables virtual collaboration while improving team communication, reducing costs and increasing efficiency. Using the free VoIP (Voice over Internet Protocol) option allows us to participate in meetings using our computer microphones and speakers – so we don’t have to run up our phone bill!
Not to mention, with the help of this technology we can invest less at the gas pump and spend less time commuting , which means we’re able to use our time wisely for team collaboration and taking care of clients- and maybe even spending more time at the beach (at least for those of us in Southern California!)
Enhancing Customer Service
Since we also work with small businesses and clients who reside all over the country, we’re able to meet with them virtually anywhere in a few clicks of a mouse. We’ve been able to pow-wow with partners, deliver visual presentations, conduct extensive online training with clients and their teams, review web site optimizations with developers – without ever having to leave our desks!
While we still love real-person interactions, we find that online conferencing has really enabled us to improve the way we work and communicate – making it easy and cost-effective to go to meetings with anyone, anywhere!

I want to suggest you try http://www.showdocument.com – its an alternative tool for gotomeeting that allows document sharing and web meeting in real-time. all the participants in the session see each others’ drawing, highlights, etc. It is free and requires no installation.

Hi Josh! Thanks for the recommendation. We’ll be sure to check it out – we love free, easy-to-use technology!

Great information – I tried a number of video conferencing services, and ended up going with VIA3 – no big hardware sink for us, and we were up and running in 15 minutes. I think they have a free trial at http://www.via3.com, if you are looking for a good solution. It also seems to be the most secure of all of the software based solutions.
