Emilia and I were admiring the brilliant SuperBowl commercial (that was web marketing “recycled” on YouTube for post-commercial “word of mouse” marketing to drive traffic to HomeAway.com.  This use of YouTube is a great example of how web marketing can re-purpose an expensive ad and keep the love alive via a video that can be spread in a viral way to boost awareness and sales.

Great ideas are great when they are well executed…they are BRILLIANT when the web is used to back them up!

    Although it takes a huge budget, updating one of the all-time greatest movies is one of the best ad hooks a brand can get. I would have settled for “European Vacation.”

    I wonder how they addressed the copyright issues? Whom would I contact if I wanted to do something similar?

    I wondered the same thing…I would think a specialized web or entertainment attorney (bucks to get the advice) would be able to help you out…I bet this was an expensive partnership!
