You might use Wordpress (my favorite) or Blogger or Typepad for your blogging platform, and for each there are advantages.  But do you occasionally feel overwhelmed by the best way to publish your non-text content?  And how do you include the ability for your readers to easily share your media content via their network of choice without having to get into the nitty gritty of your Wordpress settings?

Well, here’s a solution:  Windows Live Writer.

Windows Live Writer is a desktop blog-publishing application that features WYSIWYG authoring, photo and video publishing functionality and allows you to easily publish via the most popular blogging services (Blogger, TypePad, & Wordpress), but also any blog that supports RSD (Really Simple Discoverability).

They have Twitter, Digg and Flickr Plug-ins, and allow you to include and publish content from YouTube.  You can also do some great simple visual treatments to your media content like drop shadows, rounded corners, polaroid framing, and beautiful galleries via scattering and lightbox layouts.  And it all happens right on your desktop.

So get out there and make your Momma proud of you with your media publishing panache!
