Q. When I post photos on my blog, do I have to get permission from the site the image is on?

A. Great question.  In my personal opinion, so many images in Google images or Yahoo images have been posted so many times all over the web (on so many sites and blogs or linked to them) that it is difficult to track the original source and getting permission is tough.

So if you want to avoid hunting down photo permissions, we did find some safe “CYA” options that have free photos that are totally “I didn’t steal them” proof:

Stock.xchang – http://www.sxc.hu/signup (requires an account)
FreeFoto – http://www.freefoto.com/index.jsp
Open Photo – http://www.openphoto.net/
Photocase – http://www.photocase.de/en/
Stockvault – http://www.stockvault.net/
Flickr (but read their Creative Commons first) www.flickr.com/search/advanced/

Keep asking your great questions!
