Q. I finally created a fan page for my company on Facebook, but now I need a little bit of marketing advice -Is there a quick and easy way to invite all my friend to be fans instead of selecting them just one at a time? Thanks for your help.
A. Great question, and thanks for reaching out. Admitting you need marketing help is always the first step to recovery. You can message your friends off your personal contacts and send them your fan page link (Example: http://www.facebook.com/home.php#/pages/Web-Marketing-Therapy/48899841647) then invite them via a personal message to join….
OR
You can go to the left area of your fan page navigation (see picture to the left) and Suggest to Friends. If you do not see this link, hit “More Options” on your Facebook fan page navigation area.
Thanks for the great question, I hope you enjoyed your healthy dose of web marketing advice.

Hi Lorrie! Question on FB business pages.
So of course I have a FB page with 1400+ friends. Problem is, some of my friends aren’t as…..oh lets say…MATURE, lol. From time to time I’ll end up with a comment on my page or a video on my page that I may find funny, but worry a potential client might see.
How do you recommend separating your personal FB account from your business page? Should I create a separate account for my business and create a Fan Page under that account?
What’s the diagnosis doc?

Hi–Thanks for the info. I am curious what the automated “Send to Friends” invite says/looks like. If you have a screenshot of that I’d love to see it.
Also I noticed that when I click on the “Send to Friends” option, friends who are currently fans of my page are grayed out on the list, which makes sense. But now a few other friends–who are NOT Fans of the Page–are also appearing grayed out. Any idea why this is so?

Hi Ms. Style Maniac!
Happy to post this info. I will email you a screen shot to show you what it looks like.
I consulted with Nicki Gauthier, our Data Diva (and guru of all things techy-social) and she was stumped on why NON fans of the page were greyed out
But my idea (advice from the Marketing Therapist) is that contacts who have “do not message me” privacy settings are greyed out so you do not solicit them.
Off to email you the screen shot! LOVE your blog – keep reading, great to know you cyber sister!

Hi Style Maniac! other tip: also try “refreshing” your page before you send invite. – Data Diva

Lorrie & Nicki –Thanks so much, girls, for the reply, the personal email, the encouraging words and the assistance to all of us wading through the social media landscape. Refreshing the screen did not change anything so the theory about the grayed-out photos seems like the logical answer. I’ll ask the friends showing up that way about their settings and let you all know.
(Oh, and Data Diva that name is just too perfect!)
