There you are, reviewing a website design proof that your developer just sent over and you notice a bunch of nonsense alien text where your real content should be.
You have just discovered Lorem Ipsum, a dummy text of the printing and typesetting industry.
Why do we use Lorem Ipsum? Lorem Ipsum is used in layout proofing because the reader is often distracted by the readable content of a page. Because Lorem Ipsum has a normal distribution of letters, it looks like readable English to the eye but allows the reader to focus on other key layout design issues.
Although Lorem Ipsum looks like gobbledy-goop, it is not simply random text and actually has roots in a piece of classical Latin literature dating back to 45 BC.
If you ever find yourself needing Lorem Ipsum, sections of text are available online for you to use but make sure the author hasn’t hidden anything embarrassing in the middle of text.
